Sometimes I step back and think to myself, “How the heck did I get here!” Well, it all started when I got a little point-and-shoot canon camera freshman year of high school. I would take pictures of everything and then make cringy edits in a defunct online photo editing website called Picnic.
Although the photos were low quality, over-edited, and covered in text (probably Owl City lyrics), they paved the way to where I am today. I loved taking pictures of ladybugs and crayon hearts and sometimes even myself. I thought, “hey, maybe I can do this as a career someday.”
I went to college for graphic design and continued to pursue photography as a creative outlet with the intent of growing it into a business someday. Thanks to social media and good friends, people would take a chance on me even when I barely had a portfolio and no clue what I was doing. My first couple of weddings were life-changing and scary but I look back at those photos and still love them to this day. And I owe a lot to those first couples who took a chance on me!
Yet, I still have a lot of learning, growing, and exploring to do but my why will always remain consistent – I love making people feel beautiful and I love capturing memories!
Afterall…A photographer’s superhero power is freezing time.
