June was filled with four beautiful weddings and out of those four, I got to travel to one of my favorite places in the midwest and that is Okoboji. Although the rain taunted us, we were overall blessed with a gorgeous day. Starting the morning off with some fun dress reveals and heartfelt gift exchanges, we then had fun celebrating the bride and groom both during their individual and combined wedding party photos.

The ceremony overlooked the iconic Okoboji lakes and we had some unintended spectators sending love from their drifting boats. After the sun-soaked ceremony, the wedding party, family, and close friends took a little booze cruise during the cocktail hour to celebrate.

The reception was jam-packed with loved ones and everyone cheered as the party and couple made their debut entrances with classic, personalized skits…and can we just appreciate the sun pouring in during the specialty dances. I only dream of lighting like that!

And just like that, the night ended with a party on the dance floor. It was so fun and such an honor capturing Ellie and Colan’s day – both I went to high school with! It’s so special capturing moments of people you’ve known for years!
